Hillside Golf Club

Hillside Golf Club in Southport, on the English Golf Coast, is a characterful 18-hole links course with a distinct championship atmosphere. Redesigned in the 1960s by Fred Hawtree, it features a famous and spectacular back nine. A full review by Martin Ebert in 2018 led to significant upgrades to the front nine between 2019 and 2021. The course unfolds in two clear parts: an open, relatively flat section along the railway, followed by dramatic holes through tall, rugged dunes. Established between 1911-1913 and expanded to 18 holes in 1924, Hillside has hosted top events including the 2023 Amateur Championship, 2022 DP World Tour Cazoo Classic, and 2019 British Masters.
