Golf de Biarritz le Phare

Golf de Biarritz le Phare is a classic links course on the Phare plateau, dating back to 1888. Originally an 18-hole layout, it was redesigned by Tom and Willie Dunn and H.S. Colt. Its oceanfront location with references to the “chasm” gives it a sporty character and natural feel. The design mixes par 3, 4, and 5 holes with varied challenges. Sloped or double plateau greens, doglegs, bunkers, and woodland edges demand precise play, while par 5s combine length and accuracy. Par 3s often play uphill with well-defended greens. Practice facilities and a golf academy are available, plus a clubhouse with a Proshop and restaurant.
