Galway Golf Club cover

About this course:

Galway Golf Club is a historic 18-hole parkland course in Salthill, set against wide views of Galway Bay, the Burren and the Aran Islands. Playing 5,974 metres to par 70 (scratch 72), it demands accuracy throughout, with the first four holes running alongside Galway Bay and reached via an underground pedestrian tunnel. Mature trees, elevated and stepped greens, and the gorse that lines parts of the course all add to the challenge. Founded in 1895, the club evolved from an earlier nine-hole layout into its present parkland character. Galway Golf Club also offers strong practice facilities, including a putting green, short game area, swing room, range and driving nets. Its tournament history includes the 2016 Connacht Boys U18 Championship and the 2017 Irish Close Championship.
