From the back tees, it plays over 6,800 yards, with five tees starting at 4,617 yards, suitable for various skill levels. The course winds through the Blue Ridge foothills around Lake Lure, offering varied mountain views and diverse landscapes. About 75% of holes are nearly flat or slightly downhill, while subtly undulating greens and a slope rating of 140 add challenge. The course features wide fairways, strategic green complexes, water and streams on several holes. Par 3s, par 4s, and four par 5s alternate, with tiered greens sloping in multiple directions. Eagles Nest is available for post-round relaxation.
